Summer Meeting July 11-12
The Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association will hold a summer meeting on July 11-12 in Columbus to discuss various items of concern in high school golf. This is your chance to talk directly to the administration of GHSA. Coaches do not need to come both days and do not have to opt to play golf, but details on the events are included on the attached agenda. (2011 Summer Meeting Agenda) However, please state your intentions on what parts (Bull Creek, Ezell’s, Meeting, CC of Columbus) you wish to participate in by e-mailing Chris Parker at his home e-mail address: coachchrisparker@charter.net.
Please respond no later than July 6th. We will need a hard count for planning by this date.

Senior All-Star Coaching Staffs are Set
On June 7-9th in Moultrie, GHSGCA will host its 4th annual Senior All-Star tournament. This is a wonderful event and a treat for all 2011 seniors who are selected to participate. More details will follow in the coming weeks for the schedule of events, but now is the time for coaches to start promoting your seniors to the coaches of each team. Please ask your golfers to save the dates on their calendars. The dividing line is Columbus to Macon to Savannah with any fringe schools just to the North of that line will play for the South team if the majority of their region is to the south (usually regions 1-4). Typically regions 5-8 encompass the schools that are in the northern part of the state. We will make selections the day after the State tournament, but please begin sending your nominations (with golf resume) to your respective coaches.

Sweepstakes, Part II
For all coaches who pay their 2011 dues by the end of April, we are going to have another reverse drawing. This time the winner will receive a TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 2.0 driver compliments of Fred Wolford. We will hold the drawing the Tuesday after the State tournament.
We are planning on having our annual UGA High School coaches clinic in the summer this year. We have found that it is just too cold to be outside to hold practice sessions that most of you are interested in. Check in the website in the coming months for more details.
GHSGCA is now accepting dues for the 2010-2011 golf season. Also, due to region/classification realignment we would like to stress that you fill out the registration form and remit it along with the check. Dues are still $35 and should be made payable to GHSGCA. Please mail the check and form to:

Please designate on the registration form if you are willing to serve as a coordinator for your region. Dues for the upcoming season need to be paid no later than March 15, 2011.
